CEO & President Innovara, Inc. Barri Blauvelt founded Innovara, Inc., a global business and management development firm dedicated to providing highly customized, results-oriented services to health care, financial services, insurance, and other industries worldwide. Mrs. Blauvelt services clients mainly in the areas of basic and advanced sales and marketing management training and development, market and business potential analysis, benchmarking best practices, medical education, and business and marketing strategy consulting. Prior to forming Innovara, Inc., Mrs. Blauvelt had twelve years of marketing, sales and management experience in major corporations. She began her career in international patent and trademark law with Pennie and Edmonds and in Public Affairs with Exxon Corporation, both in New York City. Raised internationally and in the USA, she has held sales and marketing management positions with Pfizer in the USA and positions as Far East Area Manager of Medical Products (Lederle and Davis & Geck Divisions), Marketing Manager of Latin America/Canada/Far East Division, and Global Head of Marketing and Sales, for Lederle Laboratories in charge of both ethical and consumer health care products, for American Cyanamid Company. While at Cyanamid, she also was the head of the Licensing and Trademarks Committee for the company and Chairman of the Asia Subcommittee of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (Washington DC) and US/China Trade Commission (in cooperation with US and PRC governments). Mrs. Blauvelt has a BA degree in international education and pre-law. She holds an MBA in marketing from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University in New York City, where she also studied Law (LLB) and Management Sciences (PhD). She also serves as a guest instructor at several leading Graduate Schools of Business, Medicine and Public Health in the USA and as a guest lecturer at major universities around the world. Mrs. Blauvelt is a published author of articles on benchmarking best practices and on marketing management. In addition, she is active in a number of professional associations in the United States and overseas, including ASTD where she was VP Marketing (local chapter). She is frequently invited to speak at industry and government congresses both in the United States and overseas.
